Hi, my name is Kristin. I've been fostering and involved in animal rescue for over 12 years now. I got my first litter of bottle baby kittens when I was 17, and I have been hooked ever since. I started fostering with Circle of Friends in late fall 2019, and since then have fostered over 60 cats.
I love fostering all cats, but I especially love moms with babies and special needs cats. I personally have two dogs and three cats, one of which has cerebellar hypoplasia or wobbly cat syndrome. Cece is an adorable one year old tuxedo cat that is blind. She had a wonderful first owner that loved her very much but was unfortunately not able to keep her. Circle of Friends was gracious enough to help Cece, and she lived with me until recently when we found her perfect forever home.
Cece was originally found on the streets as a tiny one pound kitten. Even at the young age of about 4-5 weeks old, she did not have eyeballs. We are unsure of what happened but she may have been born without eyes or had a severe infection that caused her eyes to resorb. Once Cece came into COFAS's care, our vet determined she needed eye surgery to close sockets and remove tear ducts, so she had a double enucleation in early January. After four weeks post-op, CeCe was feeling great, and ready to find her home!
Although she is blind, Cece is a master at navigating her world. She has no trouble chasing her foster siblings through the house or finding her foster parents when she wants cuddles. She does great with dogs and cats, but she does prefer a somewhat quiet household. She can be pretty shy when she meets new people, but once she feels comfortable with you her goofy personality comes out. We are thrilled that Cece found her perfect home with a family that gives her time to adjust and has another cat for her to play with.
If you are interested in giving these sweet cats their forever home or have questions about donations, specific animals for adoption, volunteering, and other services, or if you are interested in fostering a dog, cat, or other animals for Circle of Friends Animal Society, please email them at info@cofas.org.
